From guest to neighbour: your way to Sicily
Dear hosts, partners, and friends of Sicily,
In August I provided you a date here: the fourth quarter of 2026. Today, 1 October 2026, the new portal network from Terra Mia Immobiliare is live, in English, German, and Italian.
The date is no coincidence. Eleven years ago today, I took over Herbert Hornek's vacation rental business in Sicily and founded my own company. What started as vacation rentals has grown into a network of six portals.
I built it for a journey many of you know. First comes curiosity about an island everyone seems to rave about. Then the first trip: granita for breakfast and an evening that refuses to end. And at some point, a quiet thought: I could stay here.
1. Discover: what to see and do in Sicily
Every trip starts with the question of where to go. On sicily.holiday you'll find the destinations you shouldn't miss, experiences for every taste, and everything about getting there:

2. Stay: your vacation home in Sicily
Once you know where you're going, all that's missing is the right place to stay. On sicily.vacations you'll find vacation homes and apartments across the island, and you pay your host directly.
3. Settle: a home of your own in the South
Many who arrive as guests come back. Some stay. On sicily.realestate you'll find houses, apartments, and land, listed directly by the people selling them, with no commission. Looking at Sardinia or Calabria instead? See sardinia.realestate and calabria.realestate.
That's how a guest becomes a neighbour.
Two more weeks of fine-tuning
Until 15 October 2026 the portals run in beta. During this time I am testing every step under real conditions: inquiries, listings, forms, and switching between languages. That way everything runs smoothly from 16 October.
