A vacation home in Sicily charges a median of €129 per night over the year. In August the median is €230; from January to March it is €93. Half of the homes charge between €83 and €177 across the year.

July and August are the most expensive months. The August median is two and a half times the January-to-March median. From April to October 93 homes have a rate; in winter only 73 to 80 do, because some rent out only during the season.

How the figures are calculated
The count covers the vacation homes listed on sicily.vacations on the reference date. The rate is the nightly rate for the guests it includes, usually two. Surcharges for additional guests, final cleaning and tourist tax are not included.
First each home's rate is worked out per month. The median and the middle half (lower to upper quartile) are then taken across all homes. Every home counts equally. Groups with fewer than five homes are not shown.
